Fishermen fishing in Costa Rica are more than 750 miles from the coastline. It is a large ocean that is largely devoid of fishing activity. The key to successful fishing on the high seas is knowing where to find fish. The most important tip for finding fish is Watch for Variation. Variations can take many forms, some obvious and others more subtle. ● Los Corrientes The tried and true method of finding a reef in Costa Rica is fishing "los corrientes". These currents can be noticed by subtle changes in color and temperature. Baitfish and predators in these streams abound. An experienced captain will work on the sides of "los corrientes".
